Fire in Herrera

A massive fire in Herrera destroyed two warehouses on Saturday afternoon. More than 40 firefighters worked for more than three hours to put out the blaze. The fire affected the installations of Hove Import (spare parts for small motorcycles), Micro Import (toilet paper, disposable diapers distributor) and Sol Poniente, another importer. The warehouses are located behind the Inespre facilities on Calle H at the intersection with 27 de Febrero. The fire started at around 5pm and was put out at 8pm with the use of 10 cistern tank trucks. Colonel Jose Antonio Segura of Santo Domingo West fire department told Hoy that the fire had started in the Hove Import warehouse. In the past two weeks there have been two major fires in Santiago, and two in Santo Domingo.
