The DR women's volleyball team handed China their first defeat in the 2010 World Grand Prix taking place in Macao. China's captain Wei Qiuyue had kind words for the Dominican team. "Congratulations to Dominican Republic team for the good performance. Today's match is a valuable lesson to us. We tried some new combinations and lineups today, and we will keep working hard for the future".
The Dominican Republic dealt China their first loss in the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix as the home side went down 3-2 (25-20, 20-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-9) in Macau.
The DR, nevertheless, lost the next day to the Netherlands after battling for five sets.
