Hispanola is almost close enough to walk but that's not the issue. You "require" a vehicle to bring chicas in and out of the community for the sake of propriety.

Do a search for hispanola villas and you'll get the full rundown. ContinentalMike has a good post or 2 on the subject.

If you were not going to be bringing chicas back to your villa you could manage without a vehicle but it would be a struggle and a bitch of a walk in the rain or in the dark. It really is not safe at night unless in a group and still dangerous due to traffic. I've walked it, and a mile further "up" that road, and while it can be a nice walk sometimes it's not so nice under less than idea conditions.

De nada,

Sounds like the New Garden Hotel, The Sea Breeze Hotel or Hotel Terra Linda would be best. Not in any particular order and they are all a minute or so apart, walking and right "down town"! :corky:

Never heard that Wilfred posts here and he is the manager of New Garden. There are other options. Terra Linda, right next door do a search on hotels in Sosua.

Do not rent a car and attempt to drive there, especially on your first trip!

Stay in town in the recommended hotels and walk everywhere. :D

Theis is one good reason why:

even if you do get tired of walking which i did. you will have no problem finding a moto concho, better yet they will find you... and I was only paying 25 pesos per person during the day and 50 pesos a person at night.

No. Motoconchos aren't allowed inside of the Hispaniola community. You either bring the chicas in by taxi, pasola (scooter), or your own car rental.

The villas are arguably the safest, securest, accommodations in Sosua. Not only are there multiple armed guards both guarding the gate, and patrolling the premises, but entry is also controlled both night AND day. In addition, the guards keep a written record of "troublesome" chicas, and will deny them entry. I know this from experience.

Well, there are regular car taxis in the DR. But on the North Coast, and other less metropolitan parts of the country, people use men on motos (motorcycles), or "motoconchos" as a primary means of public transportation. Extremely cheap and convenient. But also very dangerous, as most dominican drivers don't really concern themselves with traffic laws.

moto is a taxi and you can bring chicas on the moto with you im not sure about anything with the villas. but honestly bro... i have only been one time.

and you would be better off just staying at a place like new garden or rockys he has condos aswell if your not interested in a hotel room.. those places you have no problems bringing the girls in and out.

i went with a good friend of mine and we never once came across any problems as far as saftey goes. im not saying that nothing can happen but it seems to be highly unlikely..

we had chicas over every night at the condo we walked around all over the streets i even went into some of the local dominican peoples apartments every one was really nice.

i always watched my back but never felt threatend or had any issues for that matter.. as long as you dont make your self out to be a punk and make people think they can run over you you are going to be just fine.

definatly look into staying at some other places before you make your choice rockys has a website with all the info you will need.. check it out if you have the time.... rockysbluesbar.com
