When making the announcement of the start of the vehicle sticker process, Germania Montas Yapur, acting director of the Department of Taxes (DGII) said that DGII tax collections are up 15% compared to 2009, and 5% compared to 2008. She said nevertheless, that collections were below estimates, and attributed this to a decline in revenues generated by the fuel taxes. Diario Libre reports that there is a RD$6.7 billion difference in the tax income category of government revenues.
