District Attorney for the National District has received 84,432 complaints and reports over the past two years, of which 4,757 were for drug trafficking and consumption, as reported in Diario Libre.
Meanwhile, the Barrio District Attorney's offices received 56,893 of the complaints and reports. The information is contained in the District Attorney's office 2008-2010 Report. The document says that 8,105 of the cases were received at the Complaints Reception Unit at the Palace of Justice in Ciudad Nueva. The number of reports on stolen vehicles was 4,123. According to the document, some 253,330 people were helped in the District Attorney Barrio offices over the last two years, and 13,608 agreements were reached between people engaged in disputes.
The statistics say that of the 56,983 complaints filed in the barrios, 22.9% dealt with gender violence, 16.5% for robberies, 13.8% for threats, 10.2% for blows and injuries, 4.7% for issues between neighbors, 4.5% were complaints for work done and not paid for and vice-versa, as well as 1.4% of the complaints for armed assault. The complaints on gender violence were 38% for psychological and verbal violence, 37% were for physical violence, 19% for threats, and 6% for domestic violence. Likewise, the Medical Examiner Department saw 21,369 people, 12,030 involving cases of physical aggression. For conjugal violence there were 3,887 cases, 971 for personal grudges, and 231 were victims of assaults. In the area of gender violence, 14,725 protection orders, 2,650 arrest warrants and 1,028 coercive measures were issued.
