...if anyone's interested.

From DR1:

They had a pre opening last night and the food was very good. Imported beef was excellent.
The menu is not complete yet and will be done over the weekend. My understanding is there will still be some sort of menu for "residents" but I do expect much higher prices, maybe i will be fooled. The opening is planned for 7am Monday with breakfast being seved.
Yes Pedro (long time waiter) is back, No Kiwi John has not returned after his illness last year.
I wish them all the best. Bart the new manager seems to be a very nice accomadating guy and he should do well.

...and:

The Grand Pre-Opening Event at La Roca was spectacular!

The food was wonderful and obviously well prepared. The atmosphere was great. The overall ambiance was very relaxed and comfortable. More importantly, all those in attendance seemed to truly enjoy the evening and appreciated the efforts put into making La Roca even better than it was previously.

William has managed to accentuate the existing qualities of of La Roca, while also creating a relaxed and comfortable ambiance. He has succeeded in making a good thing better, which is a rather remarkable accomplishment, in and of itself.

Well done William!

I wonder if there will still be an all You can Eat BBQ night? And if they will have old stale ones like in a past post for tourists and fresh ones for locals.

Went there years ago with Palace John. Locals menu with the 47 to 1 exchange rate was a bargain. I do not like the 2 menu system unless i get to order from the cheaper menu. Much better places to eat in Sosua.

My favorite is the Romanoffs snitzel with brown gravey and mashed potato's for about 9 bucks. They also have good rice dishes for your chicas.

2nd is the Bologna for pizza. Have them cook it extra unless it will come out a bit under cooked. Best pizza for the price in town.

3rd is Lou's Shark Bar for a " REAL " burger when he has them. Any other place in town serves up some kind of meatloaf burger.

Then their is El Toro's. You get what you pay for.

Where is La Roca??

Next to the El Batey entrance to the beach, right across the street from Moru Mai.
