Check out the Chrysler GEM battery-electric motorcars Reid y Compania is promoting at the National Hotel & Restaurant trade show that opens Wednesday in Santo Domingo. The Chrysler Group Global Electric Motorcars are being launched at the show that opens at the Dominican Fiesta hotel on 25 August and continues through 28 August. The vehicles, which start at US$15,000, are environment-friendly and recommended for use in neighborhoods. They come in six models, for two, four and six passengers. They can reach a speed of 40kms and 45 kilometers per charge.
GEM cars plug into a standard 110-volt outlet to recharge and don't require the usual maintenance that a regular gasoline-powered vehicle needs, such as oil changes. The vehicles recharge in approximately 6 to 8 hours.
