President Leonel Fernandez traveled on Sunday to Colombia to attend the inaugural of Colombian President Alvaro Uribe. Uribe was reelected for a second term. He was accompanied by a mission of businessmen. Businessmen on the delegation included Manuel Estrella, Felix Garcia, Fernando Capellan, Jose Clase and Angel Rosario from Santiago. On the President's agenda are talks about the modernizing of the Dominican Petroleum Refinery. Colombia is assisting the Dominican Republic on combating crime and drug trafficking, and the DR would assist Colombia in developing its tourism industry.
President Fernandez left on a private plane and is expected back today.
