Although gasoline prices were reduced this week, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has once again frozen the price of diesel and LPG. The weekly bulletin from the ministry's Communications Department said that the new prices were lower because of the performance of the United States economy, which showed new fears about economic recovery going slower than first predicted. This caused a fall in oil prices. As a result, premium gasoline fell to RD$159.20 a gallon, a RD$2 reduction, and regular gasoline will sell at RD$150.40, a reduction of RD$1.60 a gallon. Diesel will continue to be RD$130.10, Avtur, the main aviation fuel will stay at RD$104.98, and Kerosene will sell for RD$122.10
