The Police announced that 36-year-old Italian Federico Dalmaso is safe after his kidnappers abandoned him in Estorga, in the Guerra municipality of the Province of Santo Domingo. Reportedly, Dalmaso was released at around 4pm once his kidnappers became aware the Police was close on their trail. The Police said that Luis Miguel Feliz Cuevas (El Gordo) and Miguel Angel Matos (Bitefey) were arrested in the case. Dalmaso was kidnapped from his residence at 32 A Street in La Cachaza of Andres, Boca Chica.
As reported in El Dia, the arrested men were following instructions from a La Victoria jail inmate identified as Denis. They wore attire of the National Drug Control Department (DNCD) when kidnapping Dalmaso. As reported, Dalmaso has a bullet wound in his left hand made to convince him his kidnappers would go to the extreme if the ransom of RD$1.5 million pesos they demanded was not paid.
Dalmaso was taken to the Dario Contreras and Police hospitals for care, and was said to be notwithstanding in good physical condition.
