Presidente Festival closes with a bang

With initial attendance somewhat disappointing, but climbing on Saturday and culminating with a sell-out on Sunday, the Presidente Festival of Latin Music, held after a break of five years, came to a successful close last night. According to reports in the major newspapers, it couldn't have been better. Starting at 5:45 in the early evening, with Dominican groups MarteOvenus and Toque Profundo, the program reached its climax with Gilberto Santa Rosa and the four merengue greats: Milly Quezada, Sergio Vargas, Eddy Herrera and Fernandito Villalona. The show closed with the very popular reggaeton duo of Wisin and Yandel. The big fireworks display was described as great and the stage, music and production were all top notch.
