I happen to be staying down the street (so far so good w/jaguar apartments, thanks koki)...i was planning on doing a little bar crawl before ladies night. I will add this to my agenda...

I will also ask the civilian girls at ladies night if there is another mystyk bar not associated to the hotel.

I'll be in DR very soon, flying into SDQ and I was thinking about going to Sosua for 5 nights and then Santo Domingo for two, but I'm kind of leaning toward changing it to 4 & 3. Should I?
I'd appreciate any information you could provide me.

The address would lead me to believe that it is not associated with the hotel, but I don't know this for sure. Seems a great place for non-pros. Check it out on facebook.

their are 2 separate places. The bar w/the hotel associated is ok. The girls pretended they werent pros, and they pretended to be independent of the bar and can negotiate their own price. They are their to hustle drinks for the bar, dance w/tourists, etc. They have a 2for1 drinks during happy hour and presidentes where 90dop. I would go back to get my dance on if i get bored this week but the talent was average, maybe it was early and the better ones get their later.

The Mistyk bar on the facebook page is well off the beaten path. Spanish is definitely is a must. its north of los rios and a 20min drive from la zona (traffic will turn it into a 1hr drive)

I will ask to see i its worth going but its probably one of those small dominican clubs w/no pros and civilian girls just trying to enjoy happy hour or ladies night

I've been to the one on Republic of Columbia a few times in the late afternoons. It's next door to Los Taxistas Car Wash.

I drive by it every day.

They also have a pool hall upstairs which seems to get more business than the bar. Interestingly enough, it was closed for a long time, and just opened a few months ago.

biglongbeach summed it up perfectly; just another small dominican club w/no pros and civilian girls just trying to enjoy happy hour or ladies night.

Maybe I'll stop on the way home tonight and get a picture or two.

Mystic13 is a hotel that use to be a casa that use to be hotel that use to be a casa that now is purely a Hotel that allows a few loans and private friends to work the bar. Actually, pretty decent quality and rates.
