Bravo supermarkets have decided to capitalize on a widespread complaint. In stores, the practice of rounding up price totals to the peso is always to the retailer's advantage. Initially, when stores did not have change many would give out a mint or gum, but this practice was abandoned when it became the norm for stores to not have change. Now, Bravo wants to make amends with their clients, saying they will round up the total price to the nearest peso, in favor of the client.
The supermarket has launched a major advertising campaign announcing the decision focusing on their pledge to become a zero-cent business, and will round up totals in favor of the client, as reported in El Dia.
