Celso Marranzini, vice president of the Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE) has ordered a reduction in the number of 24-hour circuits, areas that receive the least amount of blackouts. He criticized the fact that under the previous administration areas where only 60% of service was paid were receiving 24-hour service. He said the CDEEE is focusing on getting more customers in these areas to pay. He added that if the CDEEE had not implemented the austerity measures, the subsidy for this year would have reached US$2.3 billion.
