The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported last night that a low-pressure trough will cause some thunder and lightning and rains in the northeast, southeast, the central mountains and the areas near the frontier with Haiti. Onamet said that they would continue to monitor the remnants of Tropical Storm Gaston, whose cloud bands are currently located to the east of the Lesser Antilles. The system has high potential for reorganizing into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours, according to forecasters.
