Roig calls for austerity

The president of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), Miguel Roig says that it is untimely that the government should fail to commit to cutting excesses in its payroll at a time when it is reporting a financial deficit. He said the government payroll in wages was RD$5.22 billion, not taking into account several benefits. He criticized the continuing unnecessary government appointments that are increasing the cost of government at a time when the industrial sector has been asked to bear the burden by paying in advance for imported raw materials, and not take advantage of benefits authorized by Industrial Competitiveness Law.
Roig said that the government needed to take austerity measures and control its spending.
