Luis Eduardo Diaz Franjul, president of the Hispaniola Ecotourism Exchange (BEHSA - Bolsa Ecoturistica Hispaniola) wants the government to ban construction along the 20km stretch of the Barahona Panoramic Highway, as reported in Listin Diario. He says that the lands are already being sold for private houses and vegetation and construction are impeding the views. The views along the highway that connects Barahona and Pedernales are probably among the most spectacular in the entire world. Diaz Franjul is advising the government to expropriate the front stretch to maintain the views for everyone.
