President Leonel Fernandez has replaced the administrators of the electricity distribution companies, EdeEste, EdeSur and EdeNorte. Celso Marranzini, executive vice president of the Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE), which oversees the distributors, said yesterday that the management had turned in results well below expectations. He said he was losing sleep over the poor indicators of those companies.
In Decree 519-10, President Fernandez replaced Lorenzo Ventura at EdeSur with Brazilian Marcelo Rogelio Silva Iribarne, Ruben Bichara of EdeEste with Chilean Francisco Leiva Landabur, and at EdeNorte, Felix Tavarez was replaced by Chilean Eduardo Saavedra Pichardo.
In Decree 518-10, President Fernandez appointed Carlos Rafael Conrado Marion-Landais as a member of the CDEEE Board of Directors. An engineer, he is a former minister of industry and commerce, rector of INTEC university, and ambassador to the Vatican.
