Celso Marranzini, executive vice-president of the Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE), has received suggestions from several civil society and business organizations with proposed solutions to the energy crisis that has been affecting the country for decades. These suggestions were geared towards a pact between the political parties, business groups, unions, civilian organizations, the Superintendence of Electricity, and the National Energy Commission as well as the generators and distributors on the need for more sectors to pay the real value of the service.
The proposals came from groups such as the Alternative Social Forum, The Citizens Forum, the Juan Montalvo Center, the Juan XXIII Centers and Alternative City. Also contributing to the discussion were the Industrial Association of Herrera and the Province of Santo Domingo, the Dominican Federation of Industrial Associations and the Consumer's Rights Foundation.
Marranzini said he would take part in further activities towards this aim.
