Prolonged blackouts affected many areas yesterday, especially the so-called 24-hour circuits. The explanation was that AES Andres' 300-megawatt plant was off line for maintenance on Saturday. And on Sunday, Itabo I, which supplies 100 megawatts, went off line due to a leak in one of the boilers. The service is expected to improve now that AES Andres is back in service.
