Eduardo Estrella assaulted at his home

Police in Santiago say they have identified at least one of the two young men driving a small moped who assaulted politician Eduardo Estrella and colleague Roque Espaillat in front of his residence at Calle Arturo Grullon in Urbanizacion Los Jardines Metropolitanos in Santiago at around 8pm on Monday. According to the Cibao Central Command, both Estrella and Espaillat were unharmed. Estrella, president of the Dominicans for Change Party (DxC) had held a meeting with fellow party members at his home. He had gone outside with Espaillat who was leaving when they were confronted by two armed youths. He said their wallets were checked but returned and the individuals did not steal anything. Estrella speculates that they changed their plans to rob them when they realized who he was. The Police say they are on the trail of the assailants, as reported in El Caribe.
