The Santo Domingo Water Corporation (CAASD) has announced detours at Av. Winston Churchill south of 27 de Febrero where a 36-inch pipeline is undergoing repairs. The leak occurred at 6am this morning at the intersection between Churchill avenue and Desiderio Arias street, parallel to the 27 de Febrero avenue. Flooding occurred creating major bottlenecks in the area. The leak is expected to be repaired today. The leak affected consumers who receive water from the Evaristo Morales water tank that has capacity for 8 million gallons of water and supplies the Zona Universitaria, Ciudad Nueva, Gazcue, Honduras and the Coca Cola factory, as reported in El Caribe.
