Fernandez back from Colombia

President Leonel Fernandez returned from Colombia, where he signed bilateral agreements on energy and spoke about of the Puebla-Panama Plan and the Meso-American Energy Integration Program with the Presidents of El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Chile and Colombia. According to a report in El Caribe, the intention is to combine both the plan and the program into one institution that would handle energy issues while optimizing efforts and avoiding duplicities. Fernandez made those contacts during his trip to attend the taking of office of re-elected Colombian President Alvaro Uribe. President Fernandez was accompanied by Foreign Relations Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso and a representation of Santiago and Cibao businesspeople.
