Interior and Police Minister Franklyn Almeyda said the government will apply additional measures that will strengthen restrictions contained in the Citizen's Security Plan. The minister, who spoke at the Presidential Palace, did not disclose when they would come into effect. Among those measures are to be the restriction of drinking alcoholic beverages while driving in accordance with the transit law. Inebriated drivers will also be fined even if they are not actually drinking while driving, as reported by Diario Libre.
