A man accused of having participated in the murder of the air navigation director of the Civil Aviation Board, Angel Christopher Martinez, turned himself into the Police that was on his trail. 52-year old Manuel Mendez (Maico) requested that the president of the Dominican Human Rights Committee, Virgilio Almanzar, serve as middle man when he visited the Police. He was sent to the director of the Department of Intelligence, Colonel Manuel Antonio Jimenez, for questioning. Mendez maintains that he is innocent. He explained he was free on bail after having been arrested for assault to an exchange house, another case in which he alleges innocence.
