Celeste Mir, daughter of Poet Laureate Pedro Mir, was sworn in yesterday as the new Director of the Museum of Natural History. She had directed this museum for 13 years in the past. The museum, which is located in the Culture Plaza in Santo Domingo, has been closed to the public since 2003 after damage caused by Hurricane Georges. Some of its halls are expected to open again soon.
