An evangelical priest has been accused of sexually abusing more than 30 children in the slum area of Cienfuegos, Santiago. A number of parents accused Daniel Vasquez, the pastor of an evangelical church, of raping their children. The parents say Vasquez would buy the children toys to lure them to his home where he abused them. The priest was in charge of the Iglesia Evangelica Jesus la Fuente de la Salvacion in Mella I.
After the accusations came to light, he left the Cienfuegos neighborhood and is suspected to be hiding in the Las Charcas municipality in south Santiago.
