Evangelical pastor Daniel Vasquez, accused of raping more than 30 minors aged 13-16, in the low-income neighborhood of Cienfuegos in Santiago, was arrested by the Police after turning himself in yesterday. He denied the charges and said he would prove his innocence in court. An arrest order had been issued on Wednesday.
A number of parents accused Vasquez, pastor of an evangelical church, of raping their children. The parents said that Vasquez would buy the children toys to lure them to his home where he abused them. The priest was in charge of the Iglesia Evangelica Jesus la Fuente de la Salvacion in Mella I.
