In an op-ed commentary in Hoy newspaper, businessman Jose Antonio Martinez Rojas complains about the way in which Dominican life has become saturated with politics. He mentions that since the separation of the presidential and the municipal/congressional voting systems, life here has been flooded by individuals seeking to become rich and famous, propelled to the forefront by political parties, while applying the law of minimum effort. He called for the approval of the Bill on Political Parties to regulate politicians' participation in the media. He complains that programs dedicate themselves to politicians at all hours.

"After the 2012 election, Dominicans need a breather for at least three years without having to be bombarded by "patriots willing to sacrifice themselves for the homeland." He appealed to legislators to approve the bill aimed at regulating political activity in the country.
