Starting at 8 o'clock this morning, anyone wanting to contribute to the public hearings that the Senate Special Commission will hold on the proposals for appointment to the Central Electoral Board, should obtain their tickets with their turn-to-speak number. The hearings will begin at 10am. The notification was made by the president of the Commission, Senator Cristina Lizardo, who said that they were calling on citizens, civil society and anyone interested in providing support for any of the 134 candidates seeking appointment to the JCE. Speaking turns are limited to between three to five minutes, and the commission will hear them in the lobby of the National Assembly Hall.
El Nuevo Diario writes that the Senate Public Relations Department issued a press release giving the satellite coordinates for the transmission of the hearings. These will be televised on CERTV channel 4 and 17 and any other station that wants to broadcast them.
