The Ministry of Public Works has opened access to vehicles on the 27 de Febrero and Ortega y Gasset overpass, one of the Duarte Corridor works being built by the Brazilian firm Odebrecht with US$204 million in Brazilian financing. The overpass is 400 meters long and 5.40 meters high, with two 3.65-meter lanes.
The overpass is aimed at easing the north-south traffic flow. Other works in the program are the overpasses at Monumental with Duarte Highway, Manoguayabo with Duarte Highway, Nunez de Caceres with John F. Kennedy Av., Fernando Defillo with Kennedy, and Charles de Gaulle with San Isidro Highway.
