The Ministry of Higher Education (MESCYT) has announced the suspension of classes at the Universidad Interamericana (Unica) and the Experimental Felix Adam (Unefa) for failure to meet minimum requirements. The MESCYT recently closed the Universidad Eugenio Maria de Hostos (Uniremhos) for academic deficiencies. The schools will remain closed until the problems are rectified. Higher Education Minister Ligia Amada Melo says the measure seeks to defend the right of students to a quality education.
