Children of gunned policemen get some $

Five mothers of offspring of three police officers gunned down by five criminals in Santo Domingo will together receive RD$2.1 million for the education of their children. Martires Perez Diaz, Roberto Otano Medina and Jose Arturo Ogando Ramirez died when on the job Sunday, 12 September. They had responded to a call after an assault in the Los Girasoles neighborhood. The funds came from the Program for the Protection of Victims of Violence of the Ministry of Interior & Police.
