Cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez has asked for a reduction of the number of magistrates on the Central Electoral Board (JCE). At the same time, the prelate said that he felt that the government had to look for highly qualified and stable people. The Cardinal also said that three, four or five were sufficient to handle the JCE's duties, especially if they were qualified. Lopez Rodriguez also blasted the National Police force, calling the actions of the officers who accompanied a drug trafficker to a shopping center for some drinks "shameless" and "incomprehensible", while calling for a further clean up of the force.
