Five minors arrested for the murder of seven taxi drivers and injuring two others in Santo Domingo received sentences of three to five years on Thursday.
Judge Rafael Abreu of the Children and Youth Court of the Province of Santo Domingo sentenced three of the minors, including a girl, to five years. Two others, aged 16 and 17 received three-year sentences. Listin Diario reported that upon hearing the judgment, one of the minors laughed and said they would be out of jail in two-and-a-half years. The minors have said they are not sorry. The girl will serve her sentence at Najayo Women's jail.
