The team made up of Marcelo Rogelio Silva Iribarne (Edesur), Eduardo Saavedra Pizarro (Edenorte) and Francisco Leiva Landabur (EdeEste) has 45 days, as of 10 September to present a strategic plan for resolving the problems affecting the power distributors. The three Chilean executives have three months to deliver a first report on the situation of the companies and if the results are not favorable, their contracting authority, the Public Electricity Corporation (CDEEE) has the right to rescind their contracts. El Dia reports that the new managers will be bringing in a team of Chilean specialists to aid them in their work. The executives will not displace local managers but will work side by side with them to train them in best practices in the sector.
