The Supreme Court has ordered the suspension of San Cristobal judge Francisco Mejia Angomas. He recently ordered the release of three people who had been sentenced to 10 years in jail for drug trafficking. Supreme Court president Jorge Subero Isa said the court's decision had been unanimous. As reported in Listin Diario, Mejia Angomas defended his decision on the grounds that he was acting in response to a request from the state prosecutor.
