Sensational Taiwanese jazz-fusion sextet Sizhukong is booked for two Dominican performances in October. The group that is making waves for its fusion of traditional Chinese music with jazz will be making a stop as part of their Central American and Caribbean tour. The group, directed by Yuwen Peng, will be playing at the Palacio de Bellas Artes on Tuesday, 5 October in Santo Domingo and at the Gran Teatro del Cibao in Santiago on Wednesday, 6 October.
Music critics say that Sizhukong is not easy to define. African and Latin rhythms blend with thousand-year-old Chinese traditional instruments and a jazz rhythm section.
