The presidents of the Association of Industrialists of Herrera and the Province of Santo Domingo (AEIH), Wadi Cano Acra and the president of the Federation of Industrial Associations (FAI) have told El Caribe that while Dominicans do not demand solutions to the problems that affect them, "those politicians will shut themselves in their own wretchedness."
Cano and Mendez said that despite crime, drug trafficking, the electricity crisis, problems affecting education, health and other problems there are no proposals from the political end.
Cano and Mendez called for politicians to react and become aware that the speed of the social collapse could make the country ungovernable. "The country needs pro-active politicians not paraplegics," they said. "He said the political patronage practices and sheer politics prevailing are common among those who are entrenched in government," as reported in El Caribe.
