Germania Montas, acting director of the Department of Taxes (DGII) complains that only 22% of those that need to do so have renewed their vehicle sticker. Montas says that leaving things for the last minute is typical of Dominicans. The renewal process began on 19 August and closes on 19 November. There are 268 sales points where vehicle owners can obtain the stickers, as well as an Internet renewal option.
