National Drug Control Department (DNCD) chief, Major General Rolando Rosado Mateo has been sent home to complete his recovery after being treated at the CEDIMAT center of the Plaza de la Salud. The DNCD chief's driver and assistant remain at the hospital. The three were injured in a serious car accident caused by a tire blowout, as reported by the DNCD, after they traveled to Santiago to be present at the arrest of the director of the anti-drug unit of the Santiago Police. The Toyota Land Cruiser SUV they were traveling in was totaled.
