Judge Claribel Nivar Arias was said to have revoked her decision to ban reporters from attending the court hearings for the eight people with alleged links to Puerto Rican drug capo Jose David Figueroa Agosto. She had told reporters she was adhering to the statements of Supreme Court of Justice president Jorge Subero Isa who said that the doors of the courts should be open to the press.
Nonetheless, during this morning's hearing, the judge asked the media contingent to leave the hall so she could read 4-5 pages in private. She was against the presence of cameras or recording equipment in the hall, as reported in Listin Diario.
