Puerto Rican daily newspaper El Nuevo Dia reports that the script called for the USA to match Cuba in the finals. "But someone forgot to hand the script to the Dominican team..."
The DR defeated the USA team (seeded No. 1) 7-2 to move on to the finals in the Pan American and Pre World Cup baseball tournament taking place at the Hiram Bithorn stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The event final four qualify for the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico and the 2011 IBAF Baseball World Cup. The DR now faces Cuba for the gold.
