157 legislators present at the PLD-majority Chamber of Deputies yesterday voted to choose Hugo Rafael Nunez Almonte of the PRD as a new member of the National Magistracy Council (CNM). The CNM elects the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice. Several Supreme Court justices are about to retire.
Nunez is a graduate in law from Ucatesi. He is a professional politician and has served as a deputy for the PRD since 2000. He was vice president of the Chamber from 2005-2006.
