Eleven international organizations, business leaders and civil society representatives will release the 30 proposals contained in the "Anti-Corruption Participatory Initiative" (IPAC), on Wednesday morning. The IPAC seeks to reduce public corruption.
According to Diario Libre, the agencies that will announce the suggestions are: the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Organization of American States (OAS), UNICEF, the European Union, and the governments of Spain, the United States, Canada and others.
The presentation will take place at the Hilton Hotel on Santo Domingo's George Washington Avenue and several public officials are expected to attend the presentation. World Bank representative in the DR Roby Senderowitsch met with Presidential Minister Cesar Pina Toribio to coordinate the anti-corruption proposals at the Presidential Palace last week.
"The international community will decide which of our recommendations will be supported with financing", stated Senderowitsch. The critical points that these sectors believe should be directed at combating corruption include: official regulation of contracts for projects, formulas for adjustments, an index of expenses and prices, publication of payments, prevention of potential conflicts and others.
