Representatives of the principal cruise lines operating in the Caribbean, together with other companies from related sectors, will be meeting in Santo Domingo between 25 and 29 October. The initiative seeks to promote the city and its port as a tourist and cruise line destination. The 17th Annual Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association Conference & Trade Show is being organized by the Ministry of Tourism together with host company, The Port of Santo Domingo (Sansouci). The meeting offers a great opportunity for the country, because it gives the companies the chance to assess Santo Domingo and other local cruise ship ports as a good destination for the large passenger ships. The 15 companies that belong to FCCA represent 95% of all the cruises that travel between Caribbean islands, according to Luis Molina, executive director of Sansouci.
