Last week's startling murders of two men as they left the courthouse in the city of Higuey, were, according to National Police investigators, motivated by revenge. The Police say that a drug heist was involved in the background. Investigators found out that on 20 May one of the victims, Telemaco Jean (or Yan), together with his father, Jose Ogui, killed Yonifer Castillo del Rosario with machetes. They were caught and sent to jail to stand trial. Somehow the two men accused of the crime were released on bail.
According to the Police, Yonifer's brothers Wascar and Alexander Castillo del Rosario killed Juan Emilio and Telemaco Jean as they left the courthouse. The police are searching for the two brothers. A police sergeant, Henry Perez, is under arrest for his alleged role in the killings.
