Monsignor Nunez Collado

The Dominican Conference of Bishops will swear in Monsignor Agripino Nunez Collado today as the rector of the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) for the 2010-2014 period, in a ceremony that will be headed by Cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez at the Our Lady of the Annunciation Church on the university's Santiago campus. Nunez Collado has occupied the post of PUCMM rector since 1970. His new period comes after the Holy See approved the request of his nomination by the Dominican Council of Bishops. As rector, Agripino Nunez Collado has had to handle many different roles as head of the university, including promoting the philosophical educational principles that led to the university's foundation in 1962.
