The Association of Health Service Administrators (ADARS) has notified all affiliates insured under the payroll Health Services Plan that coverage for traffic accident injuries will end on 31 December 2010. The proviso was covered in Resolution 227-02 by the Superintendent of Health and Labor Risks (Sisalril).
The Adars communication was sent to the head of the National Social Security Council (CNSS), Max Puig. It says that in order for the sector to continue to provide these services "it is evident that we have to receive the corresponding payments, and for this reason we are requesting this to be included in the agenda of the CNSS and a solution found for the problem".
According to El Caribe, this document was also sent to Fernando Caamano, the head of Sisalril, and he must give his opinion on the issue to the CNSS. Law 87-01, in article 119 specifies that traffic accident injuries are not covered under the Payroll Deduction Program's Health Services Plan.
Adars says that they will continue to cover accident victims up until 31 December.
