President Leonel Fernandez was at the San Isidro Air Force Base to receive the remaining five of eight tucano jets purchased by the government with a loan of US$93 million taken from the Brazil export bank, BNDES. Chief of the Air Force, Major General Israel Diaz said that 39 Dominican pilots are being trained to fly the planes that were purchased to fight drug trafficking.
